Tips and Strategies for Working with Children Exposed to Lead

We know that exposure to lead has been linked to a variety of learning challenges such as ADHD, aggression, bullying, cognitive challenges, learning disabilities, and poor problem solving. We also know there is no cure for lead poisoning or the damage caused from exposure. Recommendations often include items to include in the child’s diet and establishing a supportive home environment. But what can we do to help them be more successful in school and in life?

Join Amy Barto, M.Ed., from the Learning Disabilities Association (LDA) of Michigan and Tracy Gregoire, LDA’s Healthy Children Project Director for our webinar of tips and strategies for teaching and supporting children who have been exposed to lead.

Topics covered will include:
-lead exposure and health
-lead exposure and educational outcomes
-learning challenges
-strategies for support
